Mukwano Staff Participate in Aqua Sipi Sponsored Cancer Run

The Cancer Run organised by Rotary Uganda had a great turn out at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds on August 31st.

Mukwano Group of Companies, under the Aqua Sipi brand, was one of the sponsors. The run organized to raise sh300 million to complete the Cancer Centre at St. Francis Nsambya Hospital was the third edition.

The organizing Committee Chairman Hon. Michael Ssebalu said that the run which attracted close to 20,000 participants had surpassed expectations.

Former Tanzania President His Excellence Ali Hassan Mwinyi, the chief runner, was flagged off by the Vice President Rt. Hon. Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi.

Mukwano staff including senior managers participated in the run in a great show of support for the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Hon. Ssebalu expressed gratitude to Mukwano and other companies for supporting the event.

Mukwano donated 1,000 cartons of Aqua Sipi Mineral Water and in addition offered gift hampers for the top three runners in the 5km, 10km and 21km categories.
