Rotary Cancer Run Lucky Participants Get Mukwano Gift Hampers

1 September 2015 - 5:42pm

The 2015 Rotary Cancer Run had a massive turnout and the icing on the cake was that some lucky participants took home Mukwano gift hampers.

The run whose proceeds will be used to construct a blood bank at Mengo Hospital attracted over 10,000 runners. Over Ush250m was raised.

Since the charity run was non-competitive the 10 lucky participants who got Mukwano gift hampers were randomly picked by the Rotary Uganda 'mystery man'.

The lucky runners were surprised when their registration numbers were announced.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are not done. We have some nice hampers from Mukwano Group to give away.  We have had fun today and better still, some of us will go home happier," the event MC stated after the speeches.

The run which started and ended at Kololo Airstrip had 5km, 10km and 21km categories.
